INTRODUCTION
Welcome to FixMyGPU.com! Is your system producing NO VIDEO what so ever? Does your system act like it's trying to start, but just doesn't do so? More than likely your system is suffering from a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) problem. Unfortunately this is a very common problem with the HP DV2000, DV6000, DV9000, DV4, DV5, DV7, TX1000, & TX2000 series laptops. Also unfortunately it is very common in XBOX 360 & PS3 gaming systems.
WHY THIS HAPPENS & YOUR OPTIONS
The reason you are having this issue is because the solder balls under your GPU have either cracked or have become detached from the solder pads on the motherboard. There are two ways to fix this issue, with one being considered a permanent fix and the other being considered a cross your fingers repair and usually only last about 90 days. The permanent fix is where we remove the chip and proceed to clean the non-leaded solder off the GPU and the mother board. We then replace the non-leaded solder with leaded solder balls and solder the GPU back on the motherboard with state of the art equipment. The cross your fingers technique is when companies take a hot air gun or sometimes even a torch and heat up the GPU and try to get the solder to reattach to the motherboard, this is not a permanent fix and you more than likely will encounter the same NO VIDEO issue.
WE REBALL ONLY (PERMANENT) - WE DONT REFLOW (TEMPORARY)
The good news is we only perform the permanent fix on all systems that we repair; this is also considered reballing the GPU, not a REFLOW! Beware of other sites that offer the NO VIDEO repair as you may be paying for a REFLOW and not the permanent REBALL procedure.
SYMPTOMS THAT CAN BE FIXED BY REBALLING THE GPU
- System turns on and lights come on around the keyboard, but nothing appears on the screen.
- System turns on and beeps 3 times with 1 long then 2 short beeps
- Strange colored screen, sometimes grey, red, blue, or green
- Screen is pixelated or scrambled
- Screen is black, but your backlight is on
- Screen is split or divided into multiple screens
- System turns on then immediately shuts off
- System turns on with a black screen, but keeps restarting by itself
- System turns on to a white or grey screen, sometimes with horizontal lines
- System does absolutely nothing when the power button is pressed
- Can't load Nvidia driver, but can run in VGA mode only
- Screen works, but no WiFi card is found in device manager
